This project addressed skill gaps in Georgia’s agricultural sector by developing market-driven Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) programmes. Supported by MCA Georgia, it built capacity in farming, veterinary services and viticulture through three new vocational programmes at the Agricultural University of Georgia.
Key activities
- Established three vocational programmes at the Agricultural University of Georgia.
- Collaborated with international and local partners to design them.
- Provided hands-on and distance learning, and modernised training facilities.
- Engaged marginalised groups, including women, IDPs and people living below the poverty line.
Outcomes
Graduate employability and earnings improved, with a deliberate focus on inclusion. The programmes widened access to modern agricultural training and opened new routes into the sector.
